The local move looks simple until the urban details appear: corkscrew staircases, streets where the truck cannot stop and loading restrictions in the center. The good city professional solves it before moving a single box.
The prior visit is not optional
A serious company visits or asks for a detailed video of both homes: it decides truck, crew and whether a lifting platform or furniture disassembly is needed. The blind quote is the one that later balloons.
Loading zones and permits
Much of the center restricts loading and unloading and may require reserving street space with the city hall. It is paperwork the company knows and should include; ask explicitly.
Lift or stairs
The price changes with every floor without a lift and with the impossibility of using the building's. Declare everything during the visit: stair surprises are the most expensive ones.
