Special items: pianos, art and safes
Pianos, safes, sculptures and grand mirrors move under their own physics: weight concentrated wrong, fragile beyond appearance, or both. They get their own line in the quote and their own crew on the day.
Pianos
An upright is two strong people and straps; a grand is a crated, tilted, four-person engineering job. Piano specialists exist in the city and often cost barely more than a generalist's risky attempt.
Art and mirrors
Custom crates, corner protection and climate-aware transport for valuable pieces. For insured art, the insurer usually dictates the packer — coordinate before the mover books anything.
Safes and machines
Bolted safes, gym equipment and server racks: they need dismantling, floor protection and sometimes stair-climbing machines. Declare them in the first call; they decide truck and crew size.
